  1. The black cat looks like a male. That has lost a few fights.

  2. A male ?
I don't know which it is a male or a female.
They always use "she" when they talk about their unknown cats in English. LOL !
Japanese language has no gender and we only use "that" "this" or something else without gender expression.

  4. Female cats rarely fight among themselves. If you look at the black cat you will not that it has a shredded ear. This usually suggests a male cat. Its oveall shape also points to the cat being a male. A female cat walks differently.

  10. I should make a point of checking my facts before commenting on anything when you are involved. You are sharp and notice errors.

I had always assumed red cats were male always.

I remember when I was a kid in Northern Alberta Canada and discussing Japan. There were two main things about our conversation. we loved the Japanese oranges that used to come in wooden boxes at Christmas time. I remember that there were 23 oranges in a box and each orange was wrapped in green paper. The second thing was that if we dug a hole through the earth we would come up somewhere in Japan since Japan was on the other side of the world from us.

  11. The number of 23 sounds odd.
It was not two dozens. But to Japanese 23 is a reasonable number.
Odd numbers are thought as better than even numbers when you gift something to the others in Japan.
Numbers which can be divided by two are thought as bad in Japan.
I don't know why, but maybe samurai's thoughts.
They must have thought of Hara-kiri.

  12. speaking of marriage.... In canada we have japanese visitors. Many come to Prince Edward Island to see the place where the author of Anne of Green Gable lived....

Another group, marriage minded, come to Northern Canada to marry under the Northern lights....

Perhaps you could explain these reasons.....

The only stories I know about Japan were those written by James Clavell. Like many here, I became very interested, but then life took over and I forgot this interest. I must take it up again.

  13. I don't know about James Clavell at all. Perhaps most Japanese don't know him.

Anne of Green Gable is a dream to Japanese girls. Pretty girls, beautiful scenaries in Canada and their life sounds fun to us.
Boys don't read it. If your girlfriend wants to visit Prince Edward Island you should obey her. LOL!
One of my old friend has been a die-hard Anne's fan. She decorated her own house like Anne's world and went on a trip to Prince Edward Island with her daughters when she visited the east coast of the US, when her husband worked in NYC.
In my living town there is a coffee shop which was built as if like Anne's house.
I guess the owner of that shop is a woman.

About Nothern lights we can't see it in our country.
Tourist companies give their customers a trip to see Nothern lights in Canada or Scandinavia.
Travel fee is expensive but if you will have a wedding in a beautiful place you will pay so much for trip.
Women decide and men obey them. LOL !
