I arrived at Sasayama city in the early morning. My first purpose was taking photos of Tanbo-no-kamisama ( a god of rice field ) and after that I decided to walk around the city until a bakery shop would open.

Viewing of Sasayama Castle from far.

Steps to Uzume-mon ( the gate which must be buried with dirt when they had a battle. Of course to block the enemy going into the castle.)

A way to Uzume-mon

Daisho-in ( Lord's office ) and double-petals cherry blossoms.

Earthen mounts surrounded moats.
Jizo is put in front of a mount. What does it have with it ?
Mounts were made for battles.

There are many turtles in moats and they sat in the sun on tree branches.
When I went to near them they jumped into water quickly.

In walking along a bank of a moat a cat was lying under a tree at a roadside.
She tried to stand up when she noticed my walking toward her but I affected indifference and she lay down again.

Bukeyashiki ( samurai houses ). Looks like an apartment house for three families.
It is maintained very well.

A line of houses in Okachimachi street. They still live in those houses.
Okachimachi means a block where samurai lived in.

There is a vacant ground looking like a park. Impressive to see an old well in front of bamboo woods.

Looking at a line of samurai houses at a bank of a moat.
They still live in those houses and we can't take photos of details.
