国営木曽三川公園 水屋

公園内に、輪中の農家を再現した施設があった。
水屋がある。水屋とは、洪水の時に住人が避難して水が引くまで生活する為に、少し高く建てられた納屋兼避難所である。

There is a house of Waju in the park.
They have a Mizuya, which is a house as a shelter if they had a flood.
They lived in a Mizuya until water would be gone.

農家にこんな門があるのは、地主階級であろう。

The gate.
A Farmer who had such a gate must have been a landlord.

水琴窟

The Suikinkutsu

A suikinkutsu (水琴窟, suikinkutsu? literally "water koto cave") is a type of Japanese garden ornament and music device. It consists of an upside down buried pot with a hole at the top. Water drips through the hole at the top onto a small pool of water inside of the pot, creating a pleasant splashing sound that rings inside of the pot similar to a bell or a Japanese zither called koto. It is usually built next to a traditional Japanese stone basin called chozubachi, part of a tsukubai for washing hands before the Japanese tea ceremony.
