The Matsuoka Shrine. Written "Matsuoka Inari Jinja" on the second Torii gate and "Matsuoka Jinja" on the third. The name plate on the first Torii can't be read because of weathering.
The shrine is in a new town.

Two smaller shrines beside the approach. The god of the bigger one at the right is unkown. The left one is the Inari, why it is the Inari even though the main shrine is also the Inari ?

Red Torii gates look very good in green.

Red Torii gates along the approach as the Inari shrine. The stairs are very steep but not long. It is not hard to go up.

The Outer shrine. They cleaned there so well that we can sit there without a carpet.
It was a shame that the main shrine looked no good to be taken a picture because it was surrounded by green wire fence.

The Fox "Un". It posed before green Japanese maples. Its muscles looks nice.

Today we had a Takuhatsu day.
Buddhist monks travel to collect money or foods door to door but in our town we don't give anything to them, after that a leader of their believers come to collect money for them.
Money will be used to educate students in junior high schools to teach manners.

Dogs in my neighborhood all were in a panic and barked hard.
They must be scared to monks' black clothes and chanting a sutra with low voices.

Looking at the Niou-mon ( the Deva kings' gate ) through the Chokushi-mon ( the messenger's gate ) of the Youtakuji temple.

The Niou-mon has two statues of the Niou ( the Deva kings ) at both sides. The Deva kings are the guardians for the Buddhist temples like the Koma-inu the guardians for Shintou Shrines.
The Chokushi-mon is the gate for the messenger sent from the emperor.
We are not allow to go into the temple through that gate. If a temple or a shrine has the messenger's gate it means that that temple/shrine is put at a high rank.

The Buddhist temple, Youtakuji is famous for sweet flags, or iris.
They have a lots of tourists who visited there to see flowers.
